There is no wonder that this list is topped by two of Leonardo da Vinci’s creations. He is undoubtedly the most prominent artist of all time. That explains the unbelievable price of this art piece which is 450.3 Million. The representation of Jesus Christ holding a crystal orb by Leonardo da Vinci has come in first place on this list. During the same period in which the artist used to paint the Mona Lisa, King Louis XII of France acquired the painting in the year 1605. Although was lost from all records between 1763 and 1900 it was found again in 2005 by a group of British art traders.

They paid $10,000 for the picture and spent six years fixing it. Moreover, they had observed and learned about its past before revealing that it was Da Vinci’s original. This exquisite art piece is the first Da Vinci discovery since 1909, Moreover,  the artwork was displayed in 2011 by the National Gallery of London. The Heir To the throne of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman, bought the painting  “Savior of the World”. It was on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture & Tourism.

Interchange-Willem de Kooning – $343 million

Oil on canvas was the painting medium utilized by the artist to create this image. This renowned piece of Conceptual Art was painted in 1955 by the Dutch-American painter Willem de Kooning. Abstract Expressionism was developed by painters like de Kooning and Jackson Pollock. Also, it is recognized as the country’s first contemporary art trend. On behalf of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Louvre in Paris, the governments of the Netherlands and France completed a historic joint private acquisition of these Rembrandt’s priceless pendant portraits.  These drawings show the Dutch couple Maerten Soolmans and Oopjen Coppit.  Further, the paintings were acquired through a private transaction, facilitated by Christie’s, for prices ranging from €80 million apiece.

The delicately painted portraits of the newlyweds were finished in 1634. The painter was only  28 years old when he was creating this masterpiece.   Rembrandt’s full-length paintings are extremely rare. According to the reports, the only ones of these drawings that are known to exist were in the Rothschild collection in 1878. However, they had last been shown this in public in the Netherlands in 1956.
