We all know so many boy bands. And what about the girl bands? Oh no sorry, my bad… They are called Girl Groups. Yeah, they do exist… It is one of the ways that we show girl power to the world.
Even in early civilizations, there were female groups who sang in religious ceremonies and entertaining events. Since then different female singers have evolved. Little Mix
It is a British Girl Group and they came to the play with “The X Factor”, a British music competition. They activated their group in 2011. They started with four members but only three remained. And they became the winners of “The X Factor’ 2011 music competition. Since then they created many albums and won awards as well as peoples’ hearts by casting some kind of Black Magic. Well, they have got magical voices… simple as that!
Black Pink
Black Pink is one of the famous K-Pop girl groups in the scene. They formed the group in 2016 with 4 members. They are very famous for their pop, EDM music genres. YG Entertainment is the company that laid the foundation for this group. They started with the Square one album and today they have won People’s Choice Awards, Teens Choice Awards as well as Golden Disk Awards. And today they are famous just as BTS.
Red Velvet
This is another South Korean Girl Group. This is a concept of SM Entertainment. Their first album was “Happiness”. They started the group in 2014. Mainly they do pop, R&B as well as electro music albums. They have so cakey and sweet albums with very cute names such as “Peekaboo”. They also have won several Golden Disk Awards, Korea First Brand Award as well as the Korea Popular Music Awards.
Twice
They are also a Korean girl group that formed in 2015. JYP Entertainment formed this group. They create K-Pop, J-Pop, bubblegum-pop as well as EDM music albums. There are nine members in the group. They came to the play from a TV play called ‘Sixteen’. They even won song of the year for their album ‘cheer up. They are one of the highest-ranking Korean girl groups.
