Tea Time Buns with Chocolate Custard

We all love to have an evening tea with a fluffy tasty bun. Buns have evolved into a separate culture. But classic tea buns still play a major role when it comes to evening tea parties. Moreover, there are thousands of varieties when it comes to tea buns. Today we are presenting a basic but flavorful recipe to prepare tea buns decorated with a chocolate and custard topping. This is an easy recipe that is worth trying. So let’s get started!

Ingredients –

01) 700g of flour
02) 2tsp of salt
03) 1/2 cup of milk (warm)
04) 1/2 cup of brown sugar
05) 2 eggs
06) 3 tbsp of Butter
07) 7g of yeast
08) 1.5tsp of Vanilla /Rose essence

Method-

1st step
1stly add 2tbsp of sugar to warm milk and add yeast, stir it, and put it aside until yeast get activated.

2nd step
Add flour, butter , remaining sugar, salt to another bowl and mix it. Thereafter add the the activated yeast mixture and knead it till all combined well.

3rd Step
At this point dough should be sticky. Cover it with kitchen towel and put it in a warm place until it gets 2-3 in size.

4th Step
Then add Vanilla extract or rose essence and knead the dough again. Make 100g dough balls out of it.

5th step
Put those on a baking tray and wait about 20 minutes. Finally bake it in a 180c pre heated oven about 25 minutes or until you get a golden brown crust on buns.

6th Step
Enjoy buns with chocolate custard.

Note –

By using above quantities you can make about 7 buns.
Vanilla or rose essence is optional.



Chocolate custard

Let’s see how to make a delicious chocolate filling to our buns.

Ingredients

01) 450ml creamy milk
02) 3tbsp cocoa powder
03) 4tbsp caster sugar
04) 1tbsp corn flour
05) 2 large egg yolks

Method

Step 01
Heat all milk in a pan leaving 2tbsp aside.

Step 02
Add cocoa, sugar, and corn flour into a separate ball.

Step 03
Add the egg yolks and reserved milk and stir until it becomes a thick paste.

Step 04
Add cocoa mixture to hot milk. stir it well. Your delicious topping is ready to flavor the buns.

Note

Don’t let the mixture boil or the eggs will scramble.
