Come try this amazing triple cheese meatball Lasagna that will have you wanting one more slice each time you finish it. Try it out and let us know how you feel about this recipe.
Ingredients
- 10 sausages
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 onions
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 500ml passata
- 450g can chopped tomatoes
- 120g butter
- 3 bay leaves
- 150g plain flour
- 1 ½ l milk
- ¼ fresh nutmeg,
- 120g baby spinach
- handful basil
- 70g parmesan, grated
- 12 dried Lasagna sheets
- 70g cheddar, grated
- 200g ball mozzarella, cut into small pieces
Directions:
- Cut sausages into small bite pieces, heat up 1tbssp of olive oil in pan and cook the meatballs into golden brown, make sure not to put too much at once so everything gets cooked evenly. After cooked put them aside.
- Heat up the rest of the oil in the same pan cook your onions for about 8 mins until it has softened, after add in the garlic, fennel, chili and oregano. Stir for about 2-3 mins and then add your tomatoes, sugar and passata along with a little bit of water. Leave it cooking in the stove for about 35-45 mins until the tomato’s starts breaking down.
- Heat a pan, add butter along with bay leaves about 30 seconds and then add your flour into the mx and mix to make a passata, after add your milk little by little to make a thick sauce and nutmeg and some salt and pepper and leave it on low heat for 5 mins.
- From the cooked meatballs, keep about 10 meatballs and add rest to the tomato sauce, grab your casserole dish and pour spoonful of tomato sauce and meatballs into baking dish along with spinach, basil and parmesan. Pour about 1/3 of the white sauce as well and then top it with the lasagne sheet.
- Keep repeating this process until the dish is full after you lay your final layer, top it off with the meatballs you kept on the side and pour a lot of parm and cheddar on top.
- Heat the oven to 190C and put in the lasagne for about 40-50 mins.
