The main campus of the Coventry campus is the central hub that administers all the sub-campuses. It is located at the heart of Coventry city, which is a city with a historic foundation. As the original campus site of Coventry University, this campus has gone through major developments over the years. • Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing

This is one of the largest and most industry-focused faculties at the main campus. Also, this has a strong historical connection to Coventry’s automotive and industrial heritage. They offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs in engineering, including mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and electrical and electronic engineering. Originated in 1843 as the Coventry School of Design was established to support the local textile and manufacturing industries during the Industrial Revolution. Coventry University later evolved into Coventry Technical College. Then, it became Lanchester Polytechnic in 1970, focusing on applied and technical education. Later, it achieved full university status in 1992 and was renamed Coventry University.

Coventry University has experienced continuous campus redevelopment since the early 2000s, with major investment projects. This transitioned from a traditional technical institution to a modern global university.

The city of Coventry has medieval origins as a significant market and trade centre. It became one of England’s major wool and cloth-producing cities. During the Middle Ages, this city gained significant political and economic importance. Around the 19th century, the city became popular for manufacturing industries such as bicycle manufacturing. With the development of these industries, this city transitioned into a leading motor vehicle production centre.

The City of Coventry is known historically as the heart of the British automotive industry. However, the city was heavily bombed during the 1940 Coventry Blitz in World War II. Large parts of the city centre were destroyed during wartime. Post-war rebuilding introduced modernist urban design and architecture to the city. But the ruins of the old cathedral were preserved as a symbol of peace, and a new cathedral was built nearby, representing reconciliation and renewal.

The Heathrow airport is located approximately 1.5–2 hours by train, and it is the UK’s largest international airport. So, it has good transport benefits for international students. In addition, there are airport transfer services available during university intake periods.

This is one of the largest arts centres outside London, which hosts theatre performances, cinema screenings, and live music. Also, this venue has student discounts available for students of Coventry University.

Students can choose between en-suite rooms and shared apartments. On-campus accommodations provide utilities such as electricity, water, and internet, which are usually included in rent.

Coventry Hospital is approximately 15 minutes by car. Also, there are local GP clinics within the city centre and community pharmacies near campus. Dental clinics, private healthcare centres and emergency ambulance services are available for students.
