The Holloway premises have been the main hub of higher education long before the formation of London Met in 2002. After merging with the University of North London and London Guildhall University, Holloway became the main base for administration and teaching. Moreover, it was renovated with the major capital projects of the Graduate Centre and the purpose-built science Centre (opened after a multi-million investment in the 2000s). Also, the Tower building and adjacent premises were refurbished to cater to higher intakes of undergraduates.
Aldgate (The Cass)-History & Function

London Metropolitan University; History & functions of campus_premises
Aldgate’s art & design heritage has a historical nexus with Cass (often now referred to as part of the school of art, architecture & design). These buildings include instances of older industrial/warehouse typologies converted to studio functions and newer adaptations for hands-on creative education. Moreover, Aldgate developed beyond pure arts and architecture teaching toward connections with the city’s artisan and manufacturing past.
Shoreditch-History and Function
Shoreditch’s creative cluster is founded upon East London gentrification into a design and tech hub. Recently, London Met set up a Shoreditch project to harness industry linkages and provide a contemporary studio environment for the town.
Today, Shoreditch grounds style and textile teachings, short courses, and events that connect students to the London Fashion scene.
4.1.3 — History of the city area, each premise is located
Holloway / Islington
Holloway is part of the Borough of Islington. Formerly part of Middlesex, the present-day Holloway is a mixture of middle-class class elegant housing that descends into the market streets and industrial sites. Moreover, whoever talks about the Holloway development and gentrification will speak about arenas, stadiums, and Nag’s Head and beyond. In addition, the region features Victorian terraces and mixed-use business streets, all linked to key transportation hubs.

History Of Holloway
Aldgate / Whitechapel / City fringe: A brief history
To the east of the City of London lie Aldgate and Whitechapel, which are located on the historic Roman road to Essex. Historically, Whitechapel evolved as a service and light-industrial district operating tanneries, foundries and market services. Later, as a settlement of immigrants (especially Jewish and later Bangladeshi communities), it became a densely packed area. Today, it is a multicultural urban centre with many cultural organisations (e.g., Whitechapel Gallery) and a vibrant artistic and community life. So, the history of Aldgate is closely tied to London’s trading and artisanal heritage.

history of Aldgate
Shoreditch: Brief History
For centuries, Shoreditch has been the creative neighbourhood with London-style theatres and Victorian industry to 21st-century tech, galleries, and design start-ups.
