Plot Summary
Justice League Snyder Cut is based on DC Comics. It starts five thousand years ago where Darkseid tries to conquer and rule the earth with the help of three Mother Boxes. But they are defeated as Amazons, Atlanteans, Humans, and Old Gods join hands together. Darkseid and his army are forced to retreat, leaving the Mother Boxes, from whence they came. The Mother Boxes are then hidden from the outside world to protect the earth and the other planets from being used by Darkseid or anyone for that matter. Cut to the present date, a series of unfortunate events cause Superman’s demise. Thus causing the Mother Boxes to reactivate. This eventually attracts Steppenwolf, who works under Darkseid. Steppenwolf had lost Darksied’s trust and favor, so; he views this as a chance to reclaim what he has lost.
So he heads to earth to retrieve the Mother Boxes. He tracks the first Mother Box hidden by the Amazons. He storms them with an army and successfully retrieves them. The Amazons quickly warn prince Diana who is Wonder Woman, so that she can do something about it. Diana informs Bruce Wayne about the incident. So the two go on a mission to recruit humans with superpowers to prevent the tragedy. Firstly, Bruce Wayne goes to Barry Allen, who immediately accepts the invitation without a second thought as if he had been eagerly waiting to do this his whole life.

Meanwhile,
Diana heads to recruit Victor stone, who refuses to join at first. But as he learns that his father was kidnapped by Parademons who work for Steppenwolf, Victor Stone steps into the game. While all this was happening, Steppenwolf managed to track the second Mother Box hidden and protected by the Atlanteans. He makes an explosive entrance and beats the Atlantean guards, and acquires the Mother Box. Arthur Curry, after being informed of this, joins the fight with the rest of the League. Later on, the Gotham City police share intel about parademons’ base where they were hiding. The League storm the place and rescue the kidnapped employees.
Following this, Victor contrives to get the last Mother Box. The League, later on, finds out that they are able to resurrect Superman using the Mother Boxes. During this time, Steppenwolf returns and acquires the last Mother Box. From then on, the film goes about how the Justice League managed to resurrect Superman and save the planet from Steppenwolf.

The Snyder cut vs. The Whedon Cut.
There is a significant difference between the two versions of the justice league. Whedon’s Justice League was however, the first one that got released. To begin with, the visuals and color grading are definitely not the same, and Steppenwolf just looked like a cartoon character. But Snyder made the best out of Steppenwolf. You get literal chills when he makes an entrance. Of course, the Snyder cut was whooping four hours while Whedon’s was only 2. This makes a significant difference since the characters now have greater depth.
For example, in Jos Whedon’s cut, Victor was an annoying character. We despised seeing him in the film. But in Snyder’s version, it’s vice versa. Victor and Barry Allen play a significant role in saving the planet. We see a lot of them, which helps us build their character in our minds. They make a big impact in this film in terms of the story and action.

Moreover, the comical touch in Whedon’s cut is not seen here. Batman was useless and was used as a dummy in Whedon’s cut. Several sources say that Gal Gadot was even forced to act in some uncomfortable scenes by Whedon.
The continuity
This movie has a lot of references to other superheroes that Snyder wanted to bring out in his next films. It’s a pity that we won’t be seeing anymore from him. We get a dramatic entrance by the Marshan Manhunter as well. That shows how much Snyder planned his DC universe ahead. But to think that it’s all gone in vain is tragic indeed.
The Visual Effects in Snyder Cut
This film’s aesthetics must be savored. The dark color grading takes us back down the lane for a typical DC film. Most importantly, the risk that Snyder took by presenting the movie in a 1:1 ratio instead of a 16:19 ratio is impressive. At first, I reckoned that I would not be able to enjoy the movie nor it’s visual. But as the film unfolded, I became habituated to it and began to like it..
Sources say that the VFX artists only had a few months to complete their work. But after witnessing the graphics, you sure can’t say that they did in it a rush. Their work was terrific. Especially the detail and the effort they put into making Steppenwolf. Every single layer was detailed, and it was mind-blowing to see that on-screen.

Other Pros and Cons
Pros:
The music composition is impressive as it gives the audience the motivation and the need to watch. We, as the audience, are instigated to support the superheroes on the screen. The screenplay is incredible as this is a four-hour movie, one might expect it to be boring and long, but it doesn’t give you that vibe for even a second.
Cons:
The only issue that bugged me most was in fact the screen ratio. Even though you get adapted to it eventually. I felt like I could have seen more and immersed myself in Snyder’s universe way better if it was the usual screen format

Overall Verdict (4/5 Stars)
Justice League Snyder Cut must not be missed, especially if you’ve already seen the previous version. This is a whole new enhanced, and improved version, but it’s not only that; it’s much more complex, well structured and well written.
