On the southwestern shore of Mauritius, there is an underwater waterfall. We can see water cascading into the deep ocean from the shallow beach. What is really happening?
Actually what we see is an optical illusion. It is not water that is falling down to the depth of the sea but sand and silt sediments from the Mauritius seashore. The sand and silt which are in a perpetual movement deposit along the slopes at different depths and flaunt different shades of blue color. This polyphony of different shades can trick our eyes with a fascinating image of a waterfall underwater.
