This Thai food which is a green papaya salad is not only consumed in Thailand but also in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. However, according to some research, this dosh originated in Laos. But today the Thai version of this salad is more popular among tourists.

Som tam is a traditional Thai cuisine that originated in Isaan in northeastern Thailand. The basic team is made with shredded green papaya and tomatoes. Another theory about the origin of pad thai is that Thailand experienced rice scarcity because of the fighting and floods in World War II. Under the influence of the Prime Minister of the country, these noodles were promoted to get the place of rice. .  His administration promoted rice noodles. It helped define the style of Thai food. This led to the creation of the novel noodle known as sen chan.

Guay Tiew is thought to have been brought to Thailand by Chinese traders during the Ayutthaya period. 



This, on the other hand, adapted the flavors of soup and noodle components to fit Thai cuisine and the unique ingredients prevalent throughout the country.
Guay Tiew became a notable dish. Because it was one of the unique solutions used to handle the economic issue in Thailand during the 1930s floods. Noodles sold aboard the boat were one of a few lunch alternatives available to the public.  At the time, the Thai government, led by Field Marshal Phibun Songkhram, recognized the financial and nutritional benefits of noodles. They launched a campaign to encourage Thais to consume Guay Tiew. Moreover, it provides a noodle cart and a short course to train any Thais interested in owning a noodle shop. Noodles were quite popular among Thais and were advertised as very nutritious. Further, it is an inexpensive, easy, and delicious lunch for everyone.
