First Impressions
So now, we will cover the Maybelline Dream BB Fresh BB Cream. Well first of all the packaging is very straightforward and cute. This little tube is as tiny and transportable as it will get. It is not the fanciest design but it gets the job done.
Texture and Application
It is a very lightweight texture as you squeeze it out of the tube. First, it’s not all gloopy or thick and cakey (plus who wants to feel like they’re spreading frosting on their face anyway). It blends well too. I mostly apply it with my fingers and when I do, a lot of product goes on the skin smoothly without chunky parts or streaks. You can even apply it with a beauty blender or brush if you are so inclined, but to me, this is one where fingers do the job.
Coverage and Finish
Now onto the coverage. This BB cream provides medium to light coverage. This isn’t going to be heavy-duty enough to cover large blemishes or dark spots. But for everyday wear, I found it to be ideal. That gates the tone of your skin and provides you with my skin however better vibe. This is more of a dewy-finish which I love. This leaves your skin looking healthy and natural without it being oily. Oily skin types might need a little powder to set it, but for dry-to-normal skin sits spot on.
Hydrated and Skin Benefits
The Maybelline Dream BB Fresh was the only one to stand out for hydration. With a blend of glycerin, natural moisturizers like algae extract and sodium hyaluronate to thank it contains just enough moisture without weighing you down. If you do not like patchiness, then this is great with dry skin as it does NOT sink into your patches. It also has some SPF in it which is always a plus for that added sun protection. While that alone isn’t an excuse to skip your sunscreen altogether, it’s a nice barrier.
Shades and Suitability
The shade range is okay, not great It is not so common that it could be a difficult shade, the few exceptions would likely include people with very deep or super pale skin. Luckily, I did find a shade that suits my skin tone decently but the only baseline criticism is for them to diversify their range and make it as inclusive as possible.
Longevity
Lasting Power: Pretty good throughout the day. It just starts to fade slightly after 6 -7 hours (t-zone) This is not a dealbreaker as it can easily be touched up without looking cakey. Because of how light it is, this also does not feel greasy or just sit on your face all day.
Price Point
In terms of price, it’s not too expensive. This one is not going to break the bank. So, this would be ideal if you are on a budget or simply do not want to pay loads for a BB cream. Books are wonderful value considering the quality and performance provided with a book.
Final Thoughts
In sum, big fan of Maybelline Dream BB Fresh BB Cream. Great for daily wear, if you require a light-medium finish and are fans of natural dewy skin this one’s got your back. Thin, easy to apply, and does not sit heavy on your skin, also very budget-friendly. It has room for improvement when it comes to the shade range and does require touch-ups throughout the day — however, with this price point, I can’t complain too much. If you need a new BB cream, it’s worth buying!
