Highlighters from the cosmetic line Huda Beauty have become very popular on Instagram – but do they deserve all the attention? After rigorously focusing on those intense, Instagram-worthy illuminations, it’s time to give Huda’s two most well-known installed palettes a try.
First Impressions: Glam Packaging + Luxe Vibes
They do not miss presentations as Huda and others demonstrate. These two palettes are housed in beautiful supportive tins that have a very luxurious feel, the weight is good too. The actual product, The 3D Palette, features a mirror on the inside as ideal for applying on the move, whereas the Glow Obsessions are smaller and portable. Comparing the two shades, it is possible to note that both of them provide various variants to choose from for different skin types.
Creamy Dream: This is particularly true where there is a cream highlighter. That’s because it mixes effortlessly well and gives skin a dewy glow from within. Perfect for everyday wear.
Powder Power: The powder highlighter is also blendable, making you look naturally glowy at first and then very sparkly if you want more. Who said that this is only good for a day out?
Molten Magic (or Maybe Mayhem): Both the molten metallics are highly opaque and intense pigments which is where the serious wows come in. However, they can be challenging to mix and should probably be delivered to those with the most experience in makeup.
The Glow Obsessions: Pick Your Perfect Shine
These come in three different shades namely; Light, Medium, and Rich. Four highlighter shades are included in each palette, which provides more options for the shades located in a certain segment. Here’s what stood out:
Shade Selection Savvy: Skins that are lighter or darker, you will be putting your best foot forward if you choose a Glow Obsessions palette. No more highlighter mismatches!
Buttery Blends: The formula in these palettes is very buildable which is great for those new or for those who like a more subtle sheen.
Subtle Shimmers: This makes the Glow Obsessions have a less intense shimmer compared to the 3D Palette. It directs you on how to apply makeup to get the tan for everyday wear or a low-key glow.
The Not-So-Good Stuff:
Price Tag Punch: Original Huda Beauty highlighters, yes, they are on the pricey side. Thus, many cheaper and more affordable analogs available in any drugstore do not differ much in quality.
Fallout Factor: Somewhat shimmering and the compact powder highlighter of the 3D Palette causes the powder to fall on the face during application. When using apply with a soft fluffy brush tapping the excess on the bottle.
Molten Mishaps: As mentioned the molten shades within the 3D Palette aren’t very easy to blend as they eventually end up getting molten. Instead, it just applied a golden hue rather than giving the skin a perfect sheen; to stick to the other shades for a perfect glow.
The Final Verdict:
This is an interesting question, to emphasize Heaven or Hype Machine?
So, all in all, are the Huda Beauty highlighters worth it? Here’s my take:
This product may be perfect if you’re a fan of highlighters who likes different sheen levels and layers of shine on the skin. Though they were not as dazzling as the Ruby choice, the Glow Obsessions palettes have nice shades and discreet shimmer for everyday use in comparison with the Ruby choice at the same time having a lower price. Finally, the choice is up to you always depending on the amount of money you are willing to spend, the sheen you want, and your makeup prowess.
