Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

 

This is the primary faculty on the Manor Park campus of the University of Surrey, as this sub-campus is built to focus on health and medical sciences. This faculty focuses on health sciences education and practical training in collaboration with Stag Hill academic departments.

This faculty offers degree programmes such as BSc Physiotherapy, Advanced Clinical Skills modules, Occupational Therapy, and BSc Occupational Therapy. In addition, it offers community-based practice modules such as Speech and Language Therapy, BSc Speech and Language Therapy, Practice Placements Integrated, Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences, and MSc Clinical Rehabilitation.

The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences also offers postgraduate certificates for health professionals. The Manor Park campus was established as part of the University of Surrey’s expansion strategy to focus on dedicated health sciences facilities. This campus was opened to relieve space pressures on the Stag Hill Campus.

This area has a temperate maritime climate, which is typical of southern England. The weather in the Manor Park campus area is mostly influenced by Atlantic weather systems. So, students can expect mild to moderate weather year-round.

This area experiences the winter season from December to February.  Winters are cool, and have occasional frost. Also, average low temperatures are around 2–6°C. There can be rare snow events.

The spring season spans from March to May, with mild and pleasant days, with blossoming greenery and moderate rainfall. The summer season spans from June to August. Summers here are warm but not extreme. Average temperature highs are around 20–25° and have long daylight hours.

Furthermore, the autumn season spans from September to November with cooler, more frequent rainfall, which creates crisp evenings and leafy landscapes.

The Manor Park campus of the University of Surrey is located approximately 3 km from the Guildford town centre. Regular local bus services connect Manor Park with Stag Hill Campus and Guildford Railway Station. There is easy access to the Manor Park campus via the A3 road, linking to London and the South Coast. Moreover, the Guildford Railway Station provides direct trains to London Waterloo in about 35 minutes.

London Heathrow Airport is located approximately 30 km away from the campus premises. Also, London Gatwick Airport is located approximately 70 km away, making it easy for international students to access the campus.

In addition, students can use local taxi services and ride-hailing apps, which are widely available. There are well-connected cycling and pedestrian routes for students to reach the campus.
