Introduction
Rare Beauty’s True to Myself Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder is a product that appealed to me because of Selena Gomez’s staggering contribution to her beauty line. The wrapping is elegant and minimalistic, as with her previous products. Oh, and truly let us not forget the formula, the coverage situation, and how it looks on the dope…
First Impressions
This powder comes in a high-class compact with a mirror, which can even be taken when you go out to do your errands for a touch-up. The color palette’s choices are extensive, featuring multiple options suitable for a mix of skin tones. I got light brown, which I thought was slightly lighter than my skin. I thought that it would look good because it would be like my skin just being naturally glossy.
Application and Formula
The powder is so smooth and silky to the touch and on the outside. It is incredibly thin, and the formula is highly buildable. I used a makeup brush to apply the powder, and I did not notice any residual powder on my face. It blended the makeup and left it looking very fresh with a soft, matte finish. This is especially good for people with combo skin, like me. The T-zone area gets a little oily. But the powder does very well at keeping the oil in check for quite some time.
Coverage and Wear Time
The result can be lighter or medium coverage, which is just the thing I want. It can’t take a person from disfigured to beautiful, but it smooths the skin tone and keeps the foundation in place. This also reduces the size of my pores, the hair-like lines get much softer, and my acne is much less prominent.
During the day, the mineral held up great. I did sense some luster building after 5-6 hours, but it barely was anything to think about. Another brief touch-up was enough to recover. My favorite part is that it is free from fine lines or dry patches, both of which are big for me.
Pros
Simple and comfortable to wear.
You can also build up the coverage.
Creates a dewy finish that isn’t heavy or cakey.
No Untimed Lines.
Helps reduce shine for more than a few hours.
The presence of a small portable mirror was such a pleasant surprise.
Cons
Lighter coverage, so it is not an ideal product for those wanting absolute coverage.
Oily skin might need a touch-up after 5-6 hours.
Final Thoughts
In short, I am really happy with Rare Beauty’s True to Myself Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder. For those of you who can’t bear the thought of going out without some slippy petric being a part of your look, you will find this one a good choice on those days. It’s easy to apply, feels good on the skin, and lasts for a fresh look in less than a day for you. If you heavily prefer a light and good breathing powder that still has a glow product then you must try this one.
