Now…Sometimes trying to find that perfect foundation can feel as if you are searching for a unicorn. If you read my post about the best and worst drugstore foundations for oily skin, one of those that claimed to have all the answers was Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Pore less Foundation. But can it match up to those high-end brands when you buy a foundation from the drugstore? I tested this base, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Pore less foundation on my own oily skin, and here’s the news from coverage to wear time.
Drugstore Affordability, Workable Packaging For The Price
This bottle, however, is not flimsy like a lot of other drugstore foundation glass packs. And it comes with pump action which makes usage even easier. Nice pump at least dispenses just the perfect amount, which we all know is awesome if you are anything like me and waste tons of makeup. Believe it or not, I like that you can see decent shade range in there. Shading diversity is consistently something to be thankful for when a cosmetically accessible foundation. I can get a bit of an even skin tone with this, and that to me is already helpful considering the horror stories I’ve heard about other products.
Pros = Light formula, reasonable coverage
It feels comfortable on skin as it has a light weight liquid texture. Not too thick or heavy so it is very nice for everyday wear. It is of a lighter medium coverage, but can be built up for more. It will reduce your redness and give you a more even skin tone without the cakeiness.
Oh, and that matte finish! Hands down, this foundation is matte as hell. This is a great benefit to every one who has oily skin like me, it controls shine really well. I can actually go some hours before needing a blot, its literally magic.
Not So Great: Pores? Still There, Buddy. Oil Control Fades Over Time
OK, but what about that poreless bit in the name? It is not one of these foundations that make face-pores vanish. This may reduce the appearance of them a little but by no means are they going to disappear. If you have really big pores (like huge) that are very pronounced, I would use a pore-filling primer before applying this foundation.
The other part of the story is that the oil control is not absolute. Initially, does a good job only when the shine starts afterwards shines through again after few hours considering I have oily skin. Really oily), you might want to set this with a powder if you’re planning on wearing it all day.
The Bottom Line: Drunk Elephany D-Bronzi vs Elf primer-infused bronzer. – a comparison of two best bronzers for olive skin palette!
Who it’s for: Anyone with oily or normal skin looking for a lightweight matte formula and decent coverage; career makeup artists on budgets Is a budget-friendly, blends easily and keeps the skin matte most of the day. But it’s not going to work wonders on your pores.
Would I Recommend This?
It depends! Best Budget Foundation for Oily/ Normal Skin The only thing you may need in relation to this foundation could be a pore filling primer and powder if needed as per your skin type. But at the end of the day, it’s a drugstore must-have that actually lives up to its big reputation too (slightly).
